REPAIR SONY XPERIA Z3 CHARGING PORT MICRO USB BLOCK REPLACEMENT SERVICE NOT CHARGING DEAD POWER
We have taken apart the new Sony Xperia Z3 (also known as the C6603 or L36h) as there is a problem with the charging port on the device motherboard.
Although the charging port looks fine physically, the device does not recognise that a charger is being plugged in to charge the battery. We have identified the component that needs replacing in the picture below;
STEP 2: REMOVED CHARGING PORT
The charging port will need to be removed using a hot air station so that we can replace the part with a brand new one. Below is a picture of the motherboard after we removed the charging port;
STEP 3: REPLACE CHARGING PORT
We are now going to replace the part with a brand new charging port by micro-soldering it back onto the motherboard.
STEP 4: FINISH
The charging port has been replaced on this Sony Xperia Z device. It looks as good as new and the device should charge fine now. We will build the device back up and test this now.
